Hi folks

I've posted a couple of questions in the past about jobs in Korea and have always gotten very helpful replies. Thanks to everyone who has given me advice.

My question for today is: at an interview for a job how much money should i ask for?
The job will not be teaching. It will be working in marketing/business. I have an Honors degree, not a masters. I cannot speak Korean. I have 2-3 years experience of working in the business sector. I am from the UK. I currently live in Korea but am on an E2 visa.

I know these details might not seem enough to get me a job but i'm going to give it a damn good try.

Any advice on what kind of wage level i should be asking for, or how to balance my wage and ask for accomodation would be gratefully received.

Thanks again.

How could we possibly give you a salary range when we don't even know what kind of position you're interviewing for? You said you'll be working in marketing/business, but there are hundreds of positions in those fields. Be more specific and perhaps someone could help you out.

Okay,
How much for an entry level marketing position?

If anyone knows the average Korean wage for graduates starting their first job that would be helpful as well.

You should ask for what ever you think you are worth and would be happy with.

Some posters here have been giving me advice regarding wages for a job i am being offered. The position is working in the overseas sales and purchasing department.
I will be working Monday to Friday.

The company have made the following offer:
"If we give you 3,500,000won/month, you have to bear your Tax, Health insurance/national pension/unemplyment insurace."

Is this a fair offer?

Thanks.

It's more than enough to live off of..Who knows how many hours you'll be working though. If you're held to Korean standards, expect an average of at least 10 hours a day.

Depends, at what salary will they cover all those? Remember, they match your pension.

This looks like a 3,000,000 a month salary. Ask if you still get your Chuseok and Chinese New year's bonuses and your mandatory severance if you work at least 1 year.
