Is there anyone on this board that has been trained to administer the oral proficiency interview (OPI)? How and where did you get your certification?

Is there a place on the net where a list of official OPI questions can be downloaded?

I am a certified BULATS Speaking Examiner. It took a day to take the course followed by a listening test. I would recommend you contact the local agent and ask if you are able to undertake the course.

Thanks whistleblower! Do you have the agents contact information, or do you know where can I find it? British Council?

How much did it cost?

Hammer,

It cost about 200,000 KRW for the day course but it was paid for me. I would contact the British Council if you are interested in doing the BULATS Course.

Hammer, do you have a teaching qualification (CELTA, TEFL, etc) and atleast 2 years teaching experience including Business English? If so, then you are eligible to apply. I would also recommend that you look at doing the IELTS Training Course.

Some more info. can be found here:

http://www.britishcouncil.org/korea-exams-bulats.htm

There is some contact info there and you could give them a ring.

Yes, I have a CELTA. Last year I was teaching Business English at a university here in Korea. These days I am working for myself. Thanks for the information. I will contact the British Council tomorrow.

Whistleblower,

I finally got around to calling them today. I was told that they recently offered training for IELTS speaking examiner certification. They will not be having another session until sometime during the first half of next year.

They requested that I send them my resume and they would inform me of the start date and fees for 2008.

The speaking cert. training is 13 hours over two days with an exam at the end.

Cost: Around 200-300K
Requirements: TEFL cert + 3 years teaching experience

Thanks again!

Hammer

If anybody is interested in this training course email Sheena at [email protected]
