I'm considering flying over without a job and finding one while in Korea. The main area I'm looking to live in is Hongdae.
My question: Are there a good amount of jobs in the Hongdae area, or would I be better off going to another section of Seoul? |

I think you have your priorities mixed up.
You'd be better off looking for a good school with decent housing and a good contract and NOT worrying about your proximity to the party.
Public transit is available from 5:30am - midnight and the subway and bus service are second to none. Taxis are cheap for the other 5 1/2 hours.
