| Try the Oettinger weissbier. That's much better than the regular one. |

| The German Purity Laws ensure a nice, clean brew every time. If you want reliable cars, scat porn and good beer, the Krauts are the way forward. |

MANDRL: Anchor Steam and Anchor Porter I believe are two different beers. That is probably my fave beer company though (I really like the Steam).

Yeah, I can't recall the exact name, but it is quite tasty. I love going into Ralphs, Vons, or the like and having many different beers to choose from that span the entire globe. |

I have to agree with many of the posters that the Canadian standard beers (ie Canadain, Blue stc.) are not that great. That being said, it is infinitely better than the piss that they swill south of the border. Please don't reply with a post about Steve's Nut Brown which is made down the street from your cousin's house in Toledo, because I have no idea what that tastes like.
There are a few Canadian mainstream beers that are exceptional though: Alexander Keiths IPA, Sleeman's, Rickards Red and Waterloo Dark to name a few. As for smaller breweries, I think Creemore Springs Ale, Mill St. Stock Ale and Steamwhistle Pilsner are all fantastic (although you are unlikely to find them anywhere outside of Canada.) |

I see your point.
What I intended to convey (poorly I'll admit) was that that the mainstream beers of Canada are much better than teh mainstream beers of America. I know perfectly well what the mainstream beers of America taste like. I meant I don't know what every microbrew tastes like. In fact, I am sure there are some very good ones. |

seeing as i've never heard of ANY of the canadian beers you've mentioned or seen them sold in California or Korea, i'd still have to disagree that they are mainstream.
sierra nevada probably has a similar distribution to the ones you've named, and it's a fine beer.
how about samuel adams and all its variations? that's distributed nationwide and it's great. you can even buy it in korea.
let's be clear on what is mainstream: if budweiser, coors, and miller are mainsteam american beers, then i guess the canadian ones are labatt and molsen. |

I mean mainstream for canada.

I am a fan of neither of these beers

As we all know, Korea is known for thier fantastic beer selections. I aslo know of places where you can buy Aleander Keith's, although they are few and far between.

I think it is OK to guess that. I would consider all nationally available and common beers to be mainstream. While Labatt and Molson have the largest market share, Alexander Keiths is available on tap at any pub. |

| I like proper english beers the best. Real ales. I had a Adnams summer pale ale when i was in Londinium last and it tasted like sweet sweet ecstacy. Then I had some ecstacy and it tasted like Adnams pale ale. Guiness drunk in Irleand is almost impossible to beat though. |

| you dislike sierra nevada and samuel adams? wow - didn't know canadian beer was so overwhelmingly amazing. and i only pointed out that sam adams was served in korea to note that it has wide distribution - not that the korean beer market has good taste. after all we all know they import that pilsner urquell crap. |

This is lame!! Could it be that people have different tastes? Or perhaps they prefer what they are used to?
For example, Pilsner Urquell is a fine beer, but I don't really like it that much. I prefer all other Czech beers to it. Doesn't mean it isn't a good beer though. |
