Sort of. When non-9/11 threads get pushed off to the second or third page, people are less likely to investigate. You had a good thread on 9/11 (one started at my behest). I'm not sure why you need to do a regicide and come up with a new thread for every possible 9/11 topic.
You're not irrational. I hope you can see the rationality of keeping it under one or two threads. We've done this with the evolution thread, the freaky foreigner thread... I've done this with a thread for weird Korean food and a thread for things you can now buy in Korea. |

Similar to DMbfan's drunk sunday afternoon posts when he's just received his new copy of the American Conservative in the post followed by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) newsletter. And feels the need to post four topics all of which are nonsensical.
Still it keeps his simple little life happy, ahh! |

Don't the boards need a little more spam?
Jeeeezus.... You've been on this board for about a minute. What can you possibly offer a thread about how the board used to be?

Well, I'm assuming you're not Dave. I'm assuming the mods listen to a consensus opinion about what's good board behavior and what's poor board behavior. I'm merely expressing my opinion. You're free to disagree. But the mods are the final authority. |

He posts quite frequently over at the Dave's China Forums. |

I do find the whole RP phenomenon fascinating to watch, if only because of the ideological dog's breakfast of supporters his movement is attracting. As I've indicated elsewhere, he's got everyone from disillusioned neo-cons to mainstream leftists to fringe conspiracy nuts marching under his banner.
At this point, though, I'm not really sure I see the need for multiple threads about the guy, nor about the 9/11 theories, as I and others have already said. |

I've seen both leftists and conservatives post multiple threads on one topic, and it can be an effective way of getting your point accross, at least at first. That method can be good for drawing attention to your perspective, or for hammering home a point in a slightly over-the-top manner.
In the case of the "9-11 truth" threads though, I don't think those rationales really apply. It's not like we really need to have that issue brought to our attention, most of the posters here are probably familiar with at least the broad contours of the debate. And there's really no shock or humor value to the multiple threads, because they all tend to be about rather humdrum aspects of the controversy. |

I do, too.
In fact, I had a nightmare about him last night. Previous to going to bed I posted a thing about the Iowa Caucuses coming up, so that was on my mind. In my dream RP's 6 people were the only ones to show up at the caucuses. The media went nuts and made him into a major candidate who won the nomination. |

While I think that the excessive amount of Ron Pauling is ridiculous, I think the truthers and conspiracy nuts are worse. When it was just Igotthisconspracytheory spamming truther/nut stuff on the forum is was one thing, but now there are a half dozen or so of them who all do the same thing. They feel like it's their mission to educate us by letting us think about nothing but what they want to talk about.
Their place on this forum is just like their place in Bill Maher's or Bill Clinton's audience: they have to scream the same crap over and over again just to have someone smarter than them tell them how stupid they are. |

The parallel with Christian evangelicals and especially the so-called born-again type is remarkable, is it not?
They believe they know the Truth and that a higher authority (in this case, not "God" but rather "the greater, universal good") has charged them with our salvation. Igotthisguitar seems to especially believe he is leading "the resistance" against this monolithic thing he seems to see in world affairs.
So, in any case, rather than knock on our doors with Bibles every weekend, Igotthisguitar and his correligionists spam this board with their sensationalist, allegation-driven, antiEstablishment/antiAmerican worldviews, hoping that sooner or later we might finally see the Light and rise up.
Really pathetic that they seem to so steadfastly believe that this is a place where their preaching and indeed screaming at us might actually effect meaningful changes in the real world...I would estimate that posts here reach no more than two dozen or so readers at any given time. |

I actually noticed the 911 threads more than the Ron paul ones, but there are loads of them also. |
