After your employer files the proper paperwork,
How long does it take to get the following:
1. Alien Registration Card
2. Health/Medical Insurance Card (booklet)
3. Severance Pay
4. Pension

One week after you do the paperwork. I never had an employer do it for me. I have always had to go to immigration myself.

Thank you.
For others that reply, I may not be able to thank you individually as I have done with posco's trumpet and kimcheeking. However, I do appreciate any and all replies. |

1. Our office manager is quite proficient. Always has the paper work ready giving and re-giving the relevant information on what to do, where to go. Most new teachers get all this paper work done in under two weeks from the start of the job.
2. Pretty much the same as #1, but not seen as high of a priority, I would say within one month. Two months maxium.
3 and 4. Have not left my job yet, or have not yet been pushed out of my job, so I don't really know. I work for a private University, and the laws are different in the issuance of severance and pension. I believe the university only has to pay out pension. From what I have heard from teaches who have left, it has been a little over one month from the end of their contract to the time of issuance.
Sorry I can't be of more help, my answers are not based on any real facts, only what I remember. |

BTM,
Sorry. No offense intended. I listed some of the more frequent posters. It would be a very long list to include everyone.
There are 3581 registered users.
How long does it take to get the following:

Okay, 2 weeks for the Card (I also registered for my visa after I arrived).
I don't have Health Insurance.
Severance I think is received with the last paycheque.
I'm still not sure how the pension thing works. |

1. It took me 1 month(but I know you legally have 3 months to get one)
2. The what now??? I don't seem to get that but the boss pays for all the little things that happen(makes me think i'm illegal however)
3. Got it on my last pay with no hassles, expect the same this contract
4. Ditto the uncertainty over claiming |

My experience is the same as that of weatherman - we work at the same place and share the same efficient office manager. Whenever I need to renew my visa or do bank stuff, he always has the papers ready in plenty of time. For complicated things, I let my wife sort through things with him and between them all problems get solved.
The staff at the hogwon I worked at years ago was not nearly so efficient. |

Alien reg. card: 1 week after youve applied for it at immigration: you have to collect it yourself..
Health/medical ins: not sure, have no experience with this so far
Severance: Have always recieved this on my final day, along with my last paycheque..
Pension: not sure: I've just started contributing to this for the first time...
