i need some advice on how to get a Korean credit card. I thought I have seen on this board before that it is possible to get a Samsung card, but i cant seem to find any information using the search function. Anybody know of any options for foreigners to get a visa card?
Thanks

You can apply for a Samsung card at any Samsung department store or Home Plus store.

You can apply for a bank card at most banks. Most banks require a security deposit (in the form of a term deposit) before they issue a credit card.

You will only be able to get a secured card if you work in a hakwon (E2).

You can get other cards if you work at a company (E7 visa), university (E1/E2) or public school (E2).

I don't know for sure about credit card policies for F2, F4 or F5 visa holders but I would assume they are similar.

They're blowing smoke up your ass. I got mine in September this year. Get the Samsung Card it's delicious. I had to submit my bank info, my alien card, and a couple of other things if I recall.

Keep in mind though a credit card here is different from what you may be used to. Every month they pay my balance from my banking account...not so useful to me but hey, it is a VISA. Let's me pay for my World of Warcraft account while I'm here!

Eh I can get an English speaker on the horn for it, that's my biggest thing for me.

I guess I get some sort of Korean air miles when I use it, and you get some discounts at some places...mostly delicious cause it was easy to line up I guess heh.

I've used it so far to order some Dungeons and Dragons stuff from Amazon, and my payment for World of Warcraft, and fired off a couple of transcripts from my uni with it. (yeah nerdy stuff!)

Anyways, I think their number is 02 2000 8438. I hope so anyways thats the one in my handphone.
