The title says it ....

I have an mp3 file that is 3:10 long and I want to cut off and use only the first 33.15 seconds as part of a sound track in windows movie maker or a powerpoint presentation.

How can I cut this audio piece out of the mp3 and save it for use in the project?

I don't have anything other than what comes in WinXp-pro and office 2003.

Help.

Thanks.

Shocked

Never thought I'd see the day when the answer man had a question.

Anyway, did you try googling "mp3 editor"?

I was sort of hoping to do it with native windowz or office tools...
but I guess I can do it the easy way.

That begs the question...why? Is this like some sort of intellectual exercise you like to do from time to time?

I actually have wavepad and wavemaster by nhc.com.au and they work quite well for me but yes, it was to see if it could be done with basic windows or office. Not everyone has other editing tools and I was trying to create a demo that anyone with a basic office setup (XP and powerpoint) could use.

I guess my question was answered (not possible or not easily possible) by the negative response.

Thanks guys.
