The public school I worked at for more than 1 year said I sexually harassed(including skinship) female students. They never gave me proof, only stating that parents complained a few months ago. I asked what they meant by skinship and they didn't answer. They gave me 2 weeks to continue working and I said they must give me 30 days. So, they did give me 30 days.
Now, I wonder if I should include an illegal firing in the Labor Ministry complaint which I already filed for non-payment of my severance for working there 1 year. They said they didn't pay the previous teacher(s) severance, so they don't have any money to pay me severance.
I wonder why they allowed me to continue working there for months after the 1st sexual harassment complaint(s)? |

Me too, they should have fired you immediately..I would have.
Probably, they were trying to line up a replacement and it must of took a while to find one. |

That's unbelievable - you're a danger to our students, but not so much so that you can't keep working til we find a replacement.
I would most definitely go to the labour board. Actually, if it were me, I would be on the way to a lawyer's office with my Korean friend ASAP. |

Have you got these accusations in writing?
On severance, all they have to do is submit the relevant forms to the local BOE.Where's your and the previous teachers money gone? |

Your employer will fook you over when you're reported to immigration officers for this skinship crap. |

how do u know he's actually done anything wrong? the very fact they kept him on for a few months after the supposed "complaints" seems suspect... |

A lawyer will cost you about 7 million won BEFORE it ever goes to court. Just so you know.
I certainly hope this isn't going to become a trend for getting rid of teachers due to not wanting to pay severence, etc..
This is the second teacher I've heard about in the past 2 weeks (another was a post on here).
Both were in their final months of a contract. |

More than likely, into someones pocket.
I'd probably say the director and/or vice-director of your school gave himself/themselves a nice little bonus last year with the other teacher's severence and is now a bit pissed that you have the balls to ask for yours. Probably already has plans for the money, and if you get it, he won't be able to spend it on whiskey and hookers. |

probably with the high publicity of the chris neill case recently, koreans are thinking this is a quick and effective way to get rid of foreigners... it honestly wouldn't surprise me. |

true, but i didn't rant about wanting to hurt him. how do u know he hasn't done anything wrong? not that the OP's word is gold, because he could obviously state otherwise, but i didn't see him admitting to or denying the accusations other than wanting visual proof.
with that being said, it could be a 180 and turn out to be a sh*tty situation, but still..? |

I am curious the OP said he was working at a a public school. What grade? elementary middle or high school?
I also find it interesting that nothing was said about it, and it was just an oh by the way thing.
need more details I guess. |
