If they have the right to protest at the soldier's funeral on the grounds of the first amendment, then gay people everywhere have the right to celebrate Pride Week on their front lawn.

(a) A very strong example of why the government should, very exceptionally, be allowed to kill members of it its own population. Just kill them.

(b) An extreme example of why extremist religion must not be tolerated in the West and must result in the deaths of those who practise it.

(c) Evidence that there is such a thing as sub-humanity, inferior people.

Now all we need to do is wait for them all to die. Preferably of HIV, after it's revealed that Fred Phelps is a flaming homosexual.

What, do you really think someone's going to pop on here and say, "Yeah, I love what they're doing! I think it's great! God hates f4gs!"

These jokers picketed my university all the damn time. Nobody takes them seriously. There are, after all, not even any church members who aren't directly related to Fred Phelps.

I went to the University of Iowa. These guys would come up to Iowa City to raise hell on a regular basis. Presumably because Iowa City has the most gays per capita in the country, or used to.

It was always a good time, though you did see a fair bit of *beep* when they're in town. The gay guys would flash the churchies as they were told they're going to hell. It was such a surreal thing to see 10 guys with dongs out doing a sort of chorus line kick together. And no, it wasn't their legs that kicked up.

Another time some hippies, (in the interest of peace?) decided to throw eggs at the churchies. They were on bikes and unloaded about 3 dozen eggs on the Westboro people. Then they road off. The churchies called the cops, but the cops took about a half hour to get there. I left. Apparently the churchies started accusing everyone around them, the sort of impromptu protest to the protest, at which point the cops tried to question everyone. Supposedly, again I wasn't there, the Westboro types told all the cops they were going to hell for working in Iowa City and the cops threatened to charge them with harassment. Those wacky extremists.

Finally, these Westboro types were instrumental in the outlawing of Darwin's Theory of Evolution in Kansas. The crazy rule that the state school board passed has been done away with, but the educational system in Kansas has tanked because of it. My cousin, who was in High School during that timeframe, never did learn proper biology. How brilliant, that in farm country, you would mess with the teaching of biology.

No they are not. They are a fringe group that are disliked by many, many Christians, fundamental or not, in America. Please don't make this type of connection. What they do is wrong. The vast majority of Christians do NOT feel as they do.

No they don't, but regardless, Christians have quite a bad name now. Its synonymous with saying "I'm a nut job" or "I'm a redneck, flag waving, Bush supporting, ignoramus" in most circles. I feel bad for people who are actually down to earth, nice, intelligent people who just happen to be Christians. Taking all that flak from the dumbos who they happen to be in the same club with...

Kinda like a certain other situation I know with foreigners...

Christians are freaks and the public is beginning to see their true colors, thanks to the squatter in chief and all his bizarro minions.

Keep on keepin' on, I say. They'll all get theirs in due time, karma doesn't discriminate.

Disliked in the manner one white guy in Korea dislikes another white guy. "Oh geez, is that me reflected back? Do I look that dorky?" What's the difference between contemporary Christian fundy leaders that blame 9/11 or Katrina on homosexuals and feminists and these guys? Don't fundy preachers warn god will hit Florida with a hurricane if Disney lets a gay day go ahead?

For your enjoyment, watch Lily Allen's dad take them on in their home and drop a bombshell. Get to 3.30 mins in if you're that impatient. You can find the whole documentary of this mouthy lovable English atheist on youtube if you wish.

Keith Allen is going to hell!

I couldn't agree more with atomic and mm2 (bizarrely). Many Christians, my own mother included, are so ignorant of the fact that zealot moron assh*les are the true face of their religion to many others. At the same time that many of them vilify Muslims (and others) for the exact same fucking thing. And advocate waging war against them. Whoops, did I say that out loud?

Well, as long as I did, I might as well mention that Christians, while perhaps well-meaning, are not that intellectually sound. Unless, of course, they are just pedestrian appreciators of mythology.
