[...]These "conservative" girls are way more prone to cheating, since they are in a rush to get married, and they actually believe that every minute that goes by, they get older and thus less attractive... therefore, they are more open to the idea of dating as many guys as possible at once, in order to choose that "one" for marriage. A bit messed up if you ask me, but perfectly logical to them.
The "cute and innocent" girls are always putting on a show. The whole "cute and innocent" acting routine is pretty much what they've been brainwashed to be, since that is what Korean guys like[...] |
Brento, I agree with what you wrote above. I've come to the same conclucion from my own experiences. From your description it looks like we've been dating the same girl! |
Right on. Like little nymphs inna jungle swing'n from one shlong to another. The more cute and vain they act the more I'm repulsed. My gf is cute, but she doesn't act all cutesy and innocent. See'n her on the back of my motorcycle, with ripped-up jeans, black leather jacket and cool, well that just drives me....*cough* anyways. I'm more attracted to the mature and reasonable ladies so as you can guess that's slim pick'ns around here.
Hey, least try to put a positive spin on it. The next guy is gonna get the same treatment and when she meets her "Mr. Right" he's just gonna be a wolf in sheeps clothing. Besides, it's good to be rid of such as her after wasting only 3 months a small portion on your income. She'll get hers and it could be worse, much worse, trust me. |

| Players are players. The faithful are faithful. I understand you may want to find some Korea-specific cultural explanation for this and somehow make sense out of the situation but I don't think one can go as far to say cheating is more "acceptable" in Korea. No. I don't know if it happens more often in Korea than some other countries. I never saw any solid stats or something like that for a fair comparison for that matter. But hey, cheating is not "acceptable" for any normal-minded person, Korean or not. Who really wanna tolerate the idea of their SO cheating on them? Good luck next time! |
Sorry dude. Cheating is much more socially acceptable over her. At least amongst men.
I've had several awkward converstions with Korean men (bosses, coworkers, friends, random strangers I've met in a bar, ect...) brag to me about visiting the good old room salon.
Very rarely have I had that conversation with a foreigner over here, and almost never have I had that conversation with another guy back home. |
I completely agree with this. It is part of corporate culture to go to these places and have it done on the companies dime. I am almost positive that somebody has stats up here within the past year showing that something like 65% of men in Korean admitted to having sex with someone other than their wives while married. Then there are also the ones that didn't admit it. The number might be a little off, but it isn't by much. |
I guess we took the meaning of "acceptable" in different ways. What I mean is that if they get to know their partners have been cheating on them, it is not a small matter at all. It is not acceptable. They wouldn't go like "Oh, honey... Were you dating some other girls/guys? I don't think that's a very very good thing. Please try a bit to refrain from doing it next time, okay? Now let's watch TV ^^" You may see it's almost needless to say this but don't be surprised since more often than not, Koreans are depicted as a sort of aliens on this board. |

| To be honest, and with lots of experience dating K-girls, I would have to say that the more open-minded, "liberated" girls who can think for themselves, are not the cheaters. Look out for the "conservative" seemingly "cute and innocent" girls. Those are the ones that are playing you. Because most of them are too dumb to know what they want, and flip-flop on you and the Samsung guy. |
Exactly. I've watched a lot of my wifes friends and colleages over the past few years. And ever single one of the cutesy types have been cheated on their bfs. Every single one. Meanwhile, none of the more down to earth/open-minded ones have, including the very hot one who's been dating an average-looking English guy for years.
The best way to avoid getting cheated on in Korea is to avoid the cutesy ones and the ones with the "gotta get married before I'm 30, gotta get married before I'm 30, gotta get married before I'm 30" mindset. |

You know what I love about Snoop?
How he went from "Cool" to "Amusingly parodying his public image" without having gone through the "Only remembered by geeks on the internet" stage.
The man is brilliant. |

Depends on how well I know the guy and how good of friends we are. I wouldn't give a damn about some guy I just met, but I'd go to the wall for the few best friends I have. |
