How brilliant, that in farm country, you would mess with the teaching of biology. |
No kidding. I'm a Kansan, and while it's not ALL farm country, a vast portion of the state consists of farms and ranches. Now, granted, the concept of macroevolution isn't of fundamental utility in regards to growing corn; however, it's still at best very bad form. |

Beating on the Westboro Baptists for being stupid is like kicking an amputee for being a crap sprinter.
Good fun! |

Isn't generalizing the whole on the basis of a part, as most of us are doing here, no different from assuing that all Muslims are terrorists? Or, for that matter, that any academic who teaches in Korea must be a loser. With some shameful wording, we might construct an argument that is 'valid,' by virtue of the wording, but it would be in way 'true.'
Where O where did deduction go?
And before any of us start getting coo-coo for co-co puffs over here, I'll offer a defense of intellectual believers: there aint a Catholic school under the sun that doesn't teach evolution as a valid theory, perfectly in accord with, and in fact a pert explanation of, creationism. If that arouses any offense in any of us, then those of us just might be religiously athiest. It's worth thinking about. |

The members of that church are vile disgusting scum.
I don't see why local governments can't pass ordinances lengthening the distance where demonstrations are allowed at funerals.
(I'm not sure that banning demonstrations at funerals would be a violation of First Amendment rights. I'd certainly be open to hearing legal arguments for banning any and all demonstrations at funerals.) |

If God hated sinners, we would all be stuffed.
While we still sinners, Christ died for us.
Truth is that God loves homosexuals, but what he hates is sin.
In the bible, he does call homosexual sin an abomination.
God loves all sinners, but he knows sinning is not the best for people.
God wants to show his love to everyone, and guide people to walk in a life set free from the curse of sin.
ps- Where would we be if our parents were gay?
When you stand back and look at the way man & woman fit together: does it seem natural? |

I don't see any public statements to that effect. As a matter of fact, Christians tend to paint all us heathens with one broad brush and it's about time they sample their own poison. I thought the baby jesus was supposed to come rupture them all already. |

Like all Christians speaking about sin and retribution, they seem to be claiming to speak for god. I'm inclined to take their word for it. I really do believe the Christian god is speaking through them. Everything they say is 100% consistent with the bible. Doesn't god punish sinners in this life? Doesn't god reward faithful in this life? Doesn't god punish/reward whole nations? Doesn't god decide super bowl games?
