Hey guys,
How are you enjoying the Korean autumn? It's getting pretty cold in this part of Seoul Smile

Anyways, not to make it any colder but, I was wondering if you American EFL teachers could share some input about this:

I know that we'll have to pay social security taxes on our income, but is it really 15% of our gross income? It just struck me and that sounds like a lot lol and I never remember it being so much.

I tried to go to the www.ssa.gov and www.socialsecurity.gov but those websites wouldn't open, unfortunately.

Anyways, any insight on this would be very helpful.

uh no you dont, foreign income doesnt count. when you leave korea you can have your pension fund contributions credited to social security, which will help you qualify for a higher benefit when you retire but 99% of the people i know take the cash
