When sending a package from Korea to an APO address, do I write "USA" on the package?

Any other tips on sending something to US military in Iraq? I'll take the humorous along with the serious. Laughing

Yes, you write USA on the package. The APO, AP or FPO, AP or whatever goes for the city/state. So instead of Salt Lake City, Utah, you'd write "APO, AP."

If you send APO to APO it's free. If you send it through regular postage it has to go through korean mail, then through US mail, then to military mail, so plan on it taking quite a while. If it is send directly through US mail, mail it PRIORITY MAIL from USPS. It always gets there in right at or under a week. Express will just cost you more and it won't get there any faster.

Do what my Dad used to do...

Address the letter to "General" or "Admiral" even though the guy may just be a lowly ranker.

I wouldn't do that. The packages going to Iraq are highly scrutinized right now for obvious reasons. That would probably be a good reason to confiscate the package or return it due to suspicion.
