...when is it to be taken? Is it the two weeks from the end of the contract? Eg. if you signed a contract on 1 September then the two weeks leave would be from 1-14th September the next year? |

It's supposed to be during the vacation period, before your contract ends |

My contract specifies the last two weeks of the current contract. |

cruisemonkey...I like your signature, but it always bothers me that dissonance is spelt wrongly. |

So, these two weeks, is it on top of your contractual holiday agreement or is it to be taken as part of your annual holiday entitlement?
I've got 28 days holiday per year so does this mean I get an additional 2-weeks at the end of my contract if I re-sign? |

Thanks for the little boast...
...it depends entirely on what your contract says. The standard Epik contract says two weeks extra leave for re-signing. It will say in your contract what your situation is. |

The 2 calendar weeks for your "home leave" on re-signing is in addition to your contracted annual paid holiday time.
It is usually taken as either the last 2 weeks of Feb (for spring term starters) or the last 2 weeks of Aug (for fall term starters). |

Do you have to re-sign with the same school or just re-sign with EPIK/GEPIK etc? |

Good question. I have a EPIC contract and my employer is the Superintendent of the POE. This leads me to believe that if I re-signed (but agreed to switch schools within the province), I would be entitled to the two weeks leave. However, I had them put my specific school in the conract (I didn't want them to be able to send me 'anywhere'). Now, I'm wondering if they decide not to fund my school next year, could I have 'shot myself in the foot'? |
