I posted this on another thread, but, brazen egomaniac that I am, I just thought it warraned its own thread...

I agree that we don't need a hundred threads on the 9/11 truth debate. After all, if the Creation vs. Evolution gang, a fervent group of posters if ever, can confine their debate to one thread, then the truthers and their opponents should be able to do the same.

Here's a suggestion:

Most of the "9/11 truth" threads seem to be started by the so-called "truthers", ie. the people who argue against the US government's version of events. If the "anti-truthers" wish to continue in the discussion, they should all congregate on one particular truther thread, and confine the debate to that thread. Presumably, the truthers might stop posting multiple threads if all except one are getting zero replies.

Anyway, I'm going to offer up this thread that you're reading as the one on which to discuss what happened on Sept. 11 2001. If people accept my offer, great. And if not, well, c'est la vie.

But my opening post wasn't a 9/11 opinion piece. The only opinion I needed to give was my opinion on the mutliple threads, which I did.

But hey, if it gets things going...

I lean toward accepting the offical version, but am willing to listen to both sides. Not particularly interested in jumping in the debate as an active participant, though.

Umm, no. I'm not trying to control anyone's behavior. It's true I'm not crazy about the multiple threads, but I'm certainly not gonna force anyone not to participate in them.

If people want to continue starting mutliple threads, and responding to them, I'll happily abandon this atttempt at streamlining.

Like I say. I'm not really interested in joining the debate as an active participant.

OTOH,

The conspiracy you should be concerned with is the one about your avatar.

.... is your avatar a portrait of man, woman, some manner hermaphrodite or cross dresser? I can't tell and worse, it's a good quality portrait. It just leaves me with this idea...

One of the unfunniest unfunny movies, 22 March 1999

SNL movies are generally bad, but none have been as bad as It's Pat. After five attempts, I managed to get through the movie. Why I felt the need to finish the movie? I couldn't say. One joke can hardly make a 2 minute skit, and it definitely can't make a movie. I would much rather watch David Folley in the movie Braincandy than in this, the unfunniest of the unfunny movies.

A stupid film !, 24 February 1999

Author: Francisco Carlos Rosas Giardina ([email protected]) from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

A friend of mine told me "It's Pat" was a delicious movie with some hilarious moments. However, I considered it a dreadful film I could not laugh any moment. It is intended to be a trash movie but it is only a ridiculous one. I just could not understand some good reviews given.

Worst of SNL movies, 20 February 1999

Author: Juan Pablo Murga ([email protected]) from Guatemala

I am a fan of SNL but I hated this movie so much, it was one of the first signs of SNL downfall in the mid 90's . I watched this movie on cable, and that made me happy because I didn't pay for that crap, but sad because I wasted too much time. If you want to see something horrible on tv watch this. One of the few movies I Give 1/10

Whoooaaaaaa!!, 19 December 1998

Wow! This is THE movie of the century, I swear, you'll want to watch this flick over and over again, just to prove to your sorry self that even a lowlife shmuck like you can cut better movies than this all-time suckiest disaster..... I wonder why Tarantino asked to be uncredited for this?

Oh man I cried., 7 August 2005

Author: doctor_slo from United States

My dog once wrapped his chain around a tree. I mean he got himself wound right to the trunk. He sat there for a little bit with this stupid dog look on his face. I thought I'd laugh till I cried.

My mom has bird feeders. There was a sparrow or a robin or a starling or something eating there when a blue jay flew in and the other bird fell off the feeder. The stupid bird almost hit the ground before it flapped its wings. I mean it almost hit the ground. Damn I laughed.

My dog (when he's not wrapped around a tree) runs to the window and barks at the squirrels in the yard. Now he runs to the TV when there are pictures of squirrels on and barks. I mean he thinks those squirrels are real! I laugh a lot when he does that.

But if you think that's funny, you should see the movie IT'S PAT! I laughed till I peed. I rarely watch the Nature Channel any more to make my dog bark. I mostly tie him out in the yard now. I just play IT'S PAT over and over. I pee a lot these days.

It's an admittedly rather boyish portrait of Mary McCarthy, a left-wing American writer from the last century. University graduation photo I believe.

Mary McCarthy's review of William S. Burroughs Naked Lunch...

I like the idea of confining everything to one thread, or at least not opening a new thread for every slight variation.

I think it would be reasonable to begin with the 9/11 Commission report as the official version.
