I don't recall seeing any hockey jerseys, but I suppose people could have been wearing them under their droopy outerwear. Might I have seen them at the Rocky Mountain Tavern? I was wanting to go there and maybe getting my wise-ass self bashed over the head with a hockey stick, but the crew weren't up for it. Last time I dragged them up there, the lower floor seats were all taken, and upstairs... were chairs & tables stacked up, no music and a funky odour. We didn't linger.

[W]hat's up with all the waegook shabby dressers?

Amen! Same here in Japan, too. It's a not-too-uncommon joke among the locals here. For instance, when I met up with some friends for dinner a while back, one former colleague asked, "Hey, ATTL, why aren't you wearing shorts, sandals and a backpack?"

"What the hell? Why would I wear something like that?" quoth I.

"Well, that's what just about every other gaijin seems to be wearing." [Cue raucous laughter among the rest of our party.]

After coming from out of town to Hongdae on Saturday. I hit tinpan alley2 for five minutes, that was after popping into Tinalley 1 before, what a heap of sheet. Full of idiots, and the majority of them seemed to be miserable. My friend made the mistake of asking the way there by five yanks swigging soju from their own bottle, walking down the street with a spare one in their pockets. Holey moley!

Weird and stupid probably go hand in hand here.

How can one possibly have earned a degree yet still possess such a woeful disregard for the English language? Hate monger, capitalization, punctuation! Your abuse of apostrophes alone deserves a stint in a Thai prison.

I knew some people with engineering degrees who could not compose a proper sentence. I'll take the shabbily dressed soju drinkers over the abusers of our great language. I'm not a snob about much. I can live with a lot. I hate poor usage of language though. It is just careless. The OP and others rant how others are jerks, but they fail to deliver a well-presented argument because they are too careless, or incapable of writing something that doesn't look like kid's writing.

I used to work with a woman who was obsessed with Michael Stipe and was convinced his lyrics were written about her! Shocked

I used to work with a guy who didn't just have a comb-over; he had a frickin' turban of hair up there to cover up the baldness. He also looked like he showered about once a month.

I used to work with a Vietnam vet who used to talk about killing politicians and say things like "you ever see what a .45 caliber gun does to a person's face?" Shocked

All three of these people I worked with IN THE USA! I honestly wonder how many ESLers in Korea have ever had a real job back home. Then they'd find out there's just as many freaks there.

Bugger. I wear earphones while doing this! They were cranked up. That freaked me out. Big time.

Be warned viewers.

Will new visa regulations weed them out though? I doubt it.
