Here I go and spend a whole lot of my time trying to deal with the guy and reason with him like a mature adult, and I go and discover today that he's been spamming the Forum like crazy with the same topic over and over again.
What a total, flaming **shole this guy is. Last time I talk to him. |

On a lot of those threads, he's the last guy who made a post. So his M.O. would seem to be to start a thread about 9/11, and then start up another one when interest in the previous thread dwindles. Presumably, this creates an aura of "newness" surrounding each successive thread, which prompts people to continue a discussion that has already been abandoned on the last thread.
It's annoying, but as long as people continue to post on each new thread, it's just going to encourage him to create more. |

I agree that it's annoying. It makes him seem, dare I say it, obsessed with the topic.
One idea: If anyone wants to respond to a particular post, copy a portion of it, paste it under one chosen thread and then reply. |

A suggestion worth repeating...

In which case, I would like to propose the following operational definition:
whankerbot ('whanker' - to self-indulge; 'bot' - to do in a repetitive, automated manner): a person on a discussion forum who starts up a thread about a topic, and then continually restarts it under other titles when interest in the first thread dwindles. This is done to create an aura of "newness" surrounding each successive thread, in order to perpetuate a discussion which has already been run to ground. The whankerbot is not, and does not intend, to really saying anything new.

Like I said, would it be that difficult for a mod to pop in and lock the redundant threads? I don't think so but apparently they do. |

Too many 9/11 threads. Make them one, like the evolution thread. Let MM2 deal with loose ends there. Also, maybe a single Ron Paul thread would be a good idea as those seem to have a high frequency with little content diversity between them. The evolution thread, if a guide, has been exceedingly successful. |

To be clear, should we just create one official 9/11 thread? Mods don't need to participate. "Dave's official 9/11 discussion thread (post all 9/11 content here)" . No good? |

Not for the people (Read: person) that thinks he/she needs to make 100 different threads in order to appear relevant. |
