I think all of us agree that finding a legal E-2 teacher in this country will become pretty difficult once the new rules go into effect. Perhaps we, as teachers, should plan what we will start asking for to sign.
My vote is for a higher housing allowance per month.
Please vote and discuss. |

| I'd say a higher monthly wage as well as a higher monthly housing allowance. To be honest, a signing bonus is nice, but not high on my priorities. Housing costs are way out of whack with some of the 300-350k allowances given by some schools. |

Higher salary and a signing bonus for resigning for another year. |

i would say a longer paid vacation... i came to korea to make some money to travel, but i hardly have any time off (14 days/year total for me).
if i decide go hang around another year i'll ask for more money and vacation (if the vac is good then i'll compromise the money part) |

Speaking as a public school teacher, I'd love to see more vacation time. Seeing as how we have nothing to do many of those weeks while students are away, it'd be a great idea to entice native teachers with additional paid holiday.
After all, they're already paying us for that time. This would literally cost them NOTHING. And would make the job a hell of a lot better (to me at least). |

| I voted for higher pay, but I agree with the two previous posts. I'm a public school teacher, too, and I have 14 days a year. That's not bad IMO, but it could be better, too. 20 days would be sweet, I could take a two week break during summer and in winter. |

EXACTLY. instead of those approx 1-2 weeks, after camps, in the summer and winter that we sit around in school and do nothing, having it off would encourage more foreigners to apply for public school positions, and maybe the board could be a little bit more choosey then. it's a win-win situation |

| I also voted for higher pay, but I would love more paid vacation time. If I could change ONE thing with my current school/contract, it would be that. I only have 10 days paid vacation, plus holidays. |

Some public schools are offering more vacation time now. |
