This is a hypothetical situation:

Someone at my school has an interview with a Petrochemical Company tomorrow and has asked for the afternoon off.
The school said no so this person said they need to go to the dentists. The school tried there best not to give the afternoon off.
The interview cannot be moved so the person said they cannot go to school on Tuesday afternoon.

The school said that the person can go but now they want contact details for the dentist.

There is no dentist appointment.

What should this person do?

Have that person go and talk to a dentist and offer said dentist 100k won to cover for them. Most Koreans would do anything for money, especially lie.

Are sick days built into the contract? Do they require doctor's notes?

Otherwise, tell the person to skip that part of the day and just get deducted from the paycheck. What does the contract say about missed work?

He broke a very important rule in the Korean employment game. He tried to do the right thing in the beginning. He should have just told them he had a doctors appointment from the get go. Honesty gets you nowhere here.
