right..this argument again.

so the united states needs to be the police of the world to keep all other nations in check and to ensure that another evil empire will not rise up.
|
No , just that the US ought to do what it takes to stop the war against it by the Khomeni followers the Bathists and the Al Qaedists
| Quote: |
when people protest and call us foriegn policy evil, it is just because they hate freedom and everything that is good. |
depends on who is protesting. Who do you have in mind?
Nope they just want to see the top dog take a hit. Many of them don't like to see enemies of the US fall.
US foreign policy for the most part isn't evil.

If the Bathists , the Khomeni followers and the Al Qaedist give up their war then I don't think there will be any problem. |

but The US is often at war in modern day history.
World War 2 41-45, Cold War 47-89, Korea 51-53, Vietnam 61-74? Gulf War 91, War on Terror 01-07. That leaves 12 years in past 62 that US was not at war.
Not to mention the other conflicts or overthrows.... Lebanon, Grenada, Iran, Chile, Somali, etc
I am not trying to say that some of these conflicts are not just, I am only saying that if we took away Americans freedoms every time we were at war we would have no freedom left. |

Every conflict is different . The US did not face terror in other conflicts.
There is a real question if the US justice system can handle Al Qaeda. Remember it wasn't even effective enough to deal with Bin Laden |

It was the opinon of the Clinton adminstration that Bin Laden could not be convicted in a US court so he was allowed to go to the Sudan.
| Quote: |
. "In the United States, we have this thing called the Constitution, so to bring him here is to bring him into the justice system," Sandy Berger, who in 1996 was deputy national security adviser, told the Post. "I don't think that was our first choice. Our first choice was to send him someplace where justice is more"--Mr. Berger paused, according to the Post--"streamlined." |
