I am planning on shipping books and a several other items. Does anyone have a clue how to save money on this venture? |

The cheapest way I know of to do it is the Post Office. Pretty reliable and convenient, too. |

Seriously, you can ship things Surface Mail rather than Air Mail- they travel by ship and costs a lot less. Takes several months (I think about two) for your stuff to arrive. |

But friends of mine from Eastern Europe and Lebanon, were able to find independent shippers who could do surface mail from US to their home countries. Anyone know of an independent Korean one? Thanks. |

I never heard any logic about this. Is the USA that broke that they can't send regular mail anymore?
OP: I can only suggest bringing them on a carry-on or in your luggage. |

The word I got was that it was so rarely used it was costing the PO money to keep it as a service. |
