So, yeah, I'm seeing a Korean that doesn't speak any English and doesn't know much at all about most things foreign.
It's been pretty fun communicating almost totally in Korean and I think I learned more Korean words on the first date then a few months of studying on my own. However, I also made a faux pas on the first date. The day before I thought we had finalized the plans to meet up. So I go to meet her and she's not there...turns out that since I didn't message her that day she thought I didn't want to meet her. Just a cultural difference and she was really cool about it.
Anyone got any experience with these types of situations? It's quite a different dating experience from what I'm used to in Korea. |

I wanna know...how'd you get the date? If she didn't know any lick of English and "doesn't know much at all about most things foreign," how'd you get her to go out on a date with you? That's pretty cool. |

My Korean guy is awesome. Best guy I've ever dated. The only stories I have to share are really sweet ones that I won't share here. |

All I can say is, I met him in the states, he has little English, but studies English all the time. He is rather brilliant. He is much more perceptive to anyones' body language, which he learned from his own culture.
Dating? Come on, this man is a commander: 8 years in Korean military and oldest son means that I have no choice or voice, I have to do whatever he says to keep the peace. If he orders food, I have to eat or I can see he gets upset. His shoes have to be immaculate, which means you have to be ready to assist him polish them at a moments notice. And yours too better be glossy clean.
I was able to demonstrate to Mr. Hard#$& my natural ability to rock and mountain climb. It was the single thing that I did (besides my spectacular cooking) that won me any respect.

He never understood, or understands why I said "see you later." I was worried about being dominated in the worst possible way for the rest of my life. |
Erm... There's no easy way to ask this, but are you a weirdo? |

My last serious relationship was similar to yours. One of the best relationships in my life. TTYTT, my two best releationships have been here in Korea with Korean women. I'd have been married by now with the first one if it hadn't been for her mom saying she'd disown the daughter if we married. |

May you both enjoy the closeness of sharing the cultural differences
and grow while learning from each other. A good Korean
partner certainly opens many experiences and sights you
may not have known otherwise. Keep a good thing going,
it's worth the effort. |

Because a woman can acutally read and write in English makes her wierd? I am sure this is something you are not accustomed to. Ouch...sorry, but could you be any more specific?

What the heck does "original" Korean mean? Does speaking English make a Korean "unoriginal"? |

Does she show some of her "originality" in the bedroom? |

Sorry, the "" must be very confusing for you.
It's just some sort of Konglish Koreans use. Pretty self explanatory.
Just a Korean that doesn't know much that isn't Korean.
Has nothing to do with English ability really. |

I think they meant you're weird cause you stayed for any length of time with a guy who bossed you around. Esp since you now signed yourself "La Feminista."
Or maybe *I* just find that weird. |

When you take an original Korean home, no means yes. Least that's what my college roommates told me when I studied abroad here. |
