While I agree with most of your post, I'm not entirely sure the bolded part is correct. I heard she had personally interviewed all students and faculty for her school, but I could be wrong.
Be that as it may, Optimus has an obvious dislike for Oprah, so he has chosen skewed words to paint his picture. Hey, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, we all do it... |
I have nothing to do in my afternoons here at work, so I watch the "news" videos on msn.com. One of the videos happend to be Oprah saying exactly that. She hired the Headmaster of the school, and that person was the one who hired the other staff (that's certainly the idea that was put across). The headmaster has since taken voluntary leave, while the whole thing is sorted out. The accused person has been let go, and is being investigated.
I don't consider myself a huge Oprah fan, but I don't think it's right to make these kind of statements when there is nothing to back them up. |
Hmmm... I'm not doubting your info, but I remember reading a quote, something to the effect of "I trusted her... She betrayed me", which led me to believe she had personally hired the woman accused of wrongdoings. Guess I was wrong.
That being said, I agree that Optimus has been less than honest in his accusations about Oprah. If you're gonna accuse, be ready to back it up, not cry away calling another poster lazy and slovenly instead of providing links.

Those not made to be specific to the ESL in Asia industry. She doesn't say "All ESL teachers in Asia are pedophiles" anywhere in any of those quotes.
