Cheaper still from taiwan websites but I can't read them.
Does anybody know an English Taiwanese website? |
That thing is truly innovative and I'm sure is a watershed moment in mobile pcs, but it's just too big for what I need it for. I really hope more people follow Asus's lead, though. That thing is awesome! |

Also, wouldn't you have to pay a hefty import tax on that ordering? |

In Korea you pay about 10% tax on the cost of the goods. So you're looking at $35. the only way around this is to get it sent to a family/friend and then get them to unbox it and send it to you as a 'used' item with low value (I think for items under $150 you don't pay any tax). |

35 dollars ain't bad really.
I have tried to find one for sale in Korea but I don't think there will be for a while.
Trying to find out the cost of shipping.
THey rates to NZ, Aust and China are reasonable but they don't have Korea.
If it's reasonable I will be selling off my Xbox 360 to buy one of these for a new toy. |

$35 isn't bad at all--do you pay that at checkout, or what? Sorry, I've never ordered anything that was this expensive before. |

Yes.
But they have a note saying they aren't in stock until December 1st, they don't bill you until it has been shipped.
UK ones are going for 239 quid which is a farking rip off, but they do have black ones.
Taiwan has them in now as do a few places in the US. New Egg being one of them. |

No, when your item arrives you contact customs (or sometimes they will contact you I think) and they will tell you how much you have to pay. They will give you a bank number to transfer the money to and you can do that through an ATM or by going to a bank and filling out a form. It's pretty painless. Once that's done, your item will be cleared and it can be delivered or picked up. |

They do have them listed on enuri but there's no price and I don't read Korean so I'm not sure what it says!! Scroll down the link to see it.

Still, this would at least suggest it is coming to Korea; however, I'm sure you would have to deal with the issue of the Korean OS. |

I'm almost wetting myself with excitment over that EEE being available. I've wanted one for months.
1 December is close enough to Christmas for me. |

| Now, (going around in circles I know) if I get a smartphone on that Korean website, can I pop my existing SIM card? It looks like the best options at the price point I'm looking for are smartphones, so I might as well get one. |

You know that the EEE makes sense. The fact that it can run windows as well. A quick ram upgrade to 1GB and a 4GB CF card and you can have windows on your CF card and boot from it.
