The real kick to the cojones is going at lunchtime and watching them F. up so badly at what is basically a pretty simple process.
McDonald's back home: Hmm...getting near lunchtime. Better load up on burgers and fries so we can crank people through here.
McDonald's Korea: Wow, it's lunchtime. Look at all these people. Oh, if only there were some way we could have known in advance that they were coming and prepared somehow. Oh well, we can just fry up one burger at a time. That won't keep people waiting an insane amount of time or anything. |

Nothing wrong with occasionally eating McDonalds. Nothing. It's not going to harm you and can actually be part of a nutritious diet if it's not eaten too often. Of coure fries and cola aren't the best thing to be eaten, but a certain amount of oil and sugar can be healthy. I'd venture to say that you could eat at McDonalds once a week and it would be good for you. Depends on what you eat for the rest of the week though.
Julia Child said that McD's hamburgers are nutritious. If you're going to believe anyone, believe her.
Given that, I hardly eat there, but I did have the breakfast the other morning on a trip to Seoul. Ate it in a nanosecond. I love the hash browns and the orange juice is great. Bacon and egg McMuffin was good too, but the hash browns are my favorite.
Waiting for McDonalds is sacrilege. I quick call to a 1-888 or whatever number would put a fix to that. I remember in Taiwan them being famous for serving cold fries. What a crock. "Sorry, I want hot fries. Give me hot fries." Had to wait for my burgers often there, too. But they came quick enough. Used to special order a double cheese burger to make up for the lack of double quarter pounders (or quarter pounders for that fact) with cheese. Confused the sometimes. Cheese was extra (2 slices) and the pattie was extra (money). One time they put a piece of cheese on top of the two patties and on the bottom. Excellent. And hot.
McDonals hamburgers quarter pounders are great. Big Macs and the like I could do without. No root beer here is a shame. I always got root beer back home because the coke was too watered down. Root beer is sweeter or something. |
