Nanci Pelosi: "Impeachment is off the table"

Sometimes our representatives should reflect our wishes. Sometimes our representatives should act like statesmen and make decisions that are best for the country. Obviously, Speaker Pelosi determined that this decision was best for the country even if it's unpopular. IOW, she did what she was hired to do.

Or (a more thoughtful response) I took "off the table" to mean that it would not be considered (under normal circumstances) regardless of how justified it was.

That smacked of backroom dealings to me, although my knowledge of her is superficial.

She does seem to bend over backwards to demonstrate her support for Israel.

This might affect her willingness to do something that is in the interests of a democratic America, but deemed to be against Israel's interests.

You know...on the one hand i think, "YES! Only one more year until that piece of human sh!t is out of office!"

On the other hand i think, "Sweet sassy molassy! One more year of that douche sack! Can we really afford one more year of that guy?"

We can only cross our fingers and hope.

I rather like the idea of Obama Hussein and / or Hilary Rodham being in power when the inevitiable economic crash hits. That would end the Dems for a generation.

That would make for an odd situation since the GOP has committed suicide over the last 7 years. We'd be without either major party.

I guess the Women's Christian Temperance Party is still waiting in the wings.

It's way too long for America and the world to wait. So much damage has been done and will continue to happen beyond belief. They should had impeached that incompetent fool long ago.

And then let Cheney be President?

You do understand that should Bush be impeached, Cheney would be able to run as an incumbant in '08, right?

Unless Cheney was impeached first. They shouldn't worry, though. Nancy Pelosi's got both their backs.

Why don't you draft a memo asserting grounds for Cheney's impeachment? I'm sure Pelosi has already read at least one, and deemed it would not be worth it.

Look, I'm going to be honest. I don't support Pelosi so much generally, but I agree with her here.

Ya-ta:

The Republicans still have a bib right wing Christrian base. They have the suburban and mountain west vote. Don't forget Texas.

Let's just hope there is one.

Some of that mountain west is slipping towards the democrats (most notably CO and MT).

Has anyone seen poll results for how the various candidates stack up against each other STATE by STATE?
