Chrimbo is a few weeks away I know, but I'm really determined to tuck into some juicy turkey and all the traditional trimmings. I've heard some hotels do a fairly decent spread - can anyone point me in the right direction? |

I've looked on several sites and I think it's too early to find any info. May be later this month. |

Cheers, will keep an eye out. On a different note, I don't suppose you know anywhere in Seoul I can find good Chinese food? I don't want to eat anymore of that stuff Koreans call Chinese food. I'm half Chinese (mother's side) and I'm missing the food. |

Never once found decent chinese food in Korea.
Gecko's Xmas buffet is decent, they usually put on a decent spread for around 20,000 - 30,000. |

Westin Chosun has a turkey set you can order it has everything turkey, potatoes, stuffing pies, the whole shiznat plus you can order extra stuff.
Its usually around 300 (I think) but it feeds at least 10 waygooks, so we always ordered it as a group and threw a x-mas party at someones house.
I don't know if they do it in the Chosun where you can sit down and eat. Call them, they speak Englishie and they can tell you over the phone. |

I'm pulling the tree and lights out of the boxes now. I took the day off today and I'm determined to set everything up. Including the electric train and the little town it runs through. Then I'm having a jim beam n coke, maybe three.
Pics to follow! |

Not sure if you'll find mince pies in Korea. Might be an idea to get your Mum to post you some... No Christmas pud either and it's my favourite food of all time |

Christmas dinner in Geckos? I can't imagine anything worse. It'd be turkey, three veg and all the c*nt soup you can eat. |

No mince pies? That would be unthinkable. Christmas day is not complete without eating at least 4 of them. |

In the past the Hyatt has done an awsome Christmas buffet with everything (roast turkey, trimmings, dressing, veggies, mashed spuds and turkey gravy and an excellent dessert table that included Christmas pudding and rum sauce.
It was NOT cheap. I think the last time we paid about 50k won per head.
2 years ago the wife and I went with some Canuks from work to the Christmas dinner at the Rocky Mountain Tavern and it was a decent feed as well and had everything you would expect. I think we paid about 35k per head for that one.

What kind of Chinese are you? Mainland Chinese, Taiwanese Chinese, Cantonese Chinese or Singaporean Chinese??
I am personally Cantonese Chinese (100%), so Chinese food here just.. well.. sucks. I cook it myself..hehe..
Having said that, they've opened a xiaolongbao (sp.) restaurant in Myeong-dong.. it's the famous Taiwanese chain (can't remember the name!) and that's pretty good, albeit pricey! |
