I tried Yongsan- but they claim to only have the newer models which apparently can't be mod-chipped...yet (I know- give it a month and it'll be possible- but this is a present for a friend's wedding and we don't have a month).

Any ideas? Does Technomart have them? Hell I'd even by a used one in nice condition- as it's old enough to be mod-chipped.

Cheers~ Very Happy

Why do you want it mod-chipped? It is my understanding that mod-chipping a Wii could be dangerous since later games may not be playable. I also have seen that you can legally purchase an add-on that allows you to play games from other regions. So modding is unnecessary if you only want it to play English games.

Sorry, I was wrong. The 'freeloader' no longer works with the new upgrade of Wii. You can't play imported Wii games.

Where can I get a modded 360?

I really want a Wii but I'm gonna wait until the new ones can be chipped.

Try this site to order the console and games. Scroll down and you can change the page to english. To order, you'll need some korean skills, though.
Then, you can get the console modded in Yongsan.

Cheers for the link. Did you get your Wii delivered from the site? Got a PS2 now, but the Wii looks more fun. Worth buying?

I have to say that the Wii is really worth it, even if you can't find a modded one. I have a 360 also and it's been gathering dust since I got the Wii. Way more fun that sitting ina chair fiddling around with my thumbs.

Yesterday I got Ghost Squad (Japanese, but easy to understand) with a Wii Zapper, which turns the controllers into a sort of assault rifle (kind of). It's awesome.

As it happens, my Wii is modded and works fine even with new games.

I bought mine back home.
It's a completely different experience from regular game consoles. I'ts more dependant on body movement rather than finger movement.
I'm not into action games like Halo. I bought the Wii for the sports games.
I think a widescreen TV is needed as well. Smaller TVs don't cut it.

A smaller TV isn't too bad if you are playing solo, but you really see the point in bigassed monitors when you start playing 2/3/4 up. Especially the sports games like Wii Tennis (my favourite game of all). It can get a bit tight in a small room playing against a friend, especially after a few beer...
