I"m goin back in May 2008. Is it worth buying a desktop before I go and bring it back with me or should I just purchase it in the states, with dell most likely.

How much do u think I'll really save?

cause you can get a pretty good deal with Dell, which comes with a monitor.

I want the latest computer that a 1000 dollars will get me. That's monitor included. so I guess around 700 for the desktop. hold out for dell or korea?

Desktops, buy in Korea.

Notebooks, buy overseas.

Some prices from a good store:

www.icoda.co.kr

www.dell.co.kr

CAD $800 will get you into a quad-core computer system and you can get LCD monitors for less than $200.

Pricing is similar and it saves you dragging it back to Korea. Just remember to bring a copy of English windows (your favorite flavor - XP, VISTA) with you.

depends. Do you want a gaming/video editing comp? Or, just a run-of-the-mill everyday PC?

Some top end stuff cannot be found here.
