The shop is located at Mongchontoseong Station Area (Line 8 #813)
Which is the World Peace Gate of Olympic Park
If you have one of those ESCORT SEOUL MAPS (Sponsored by Outback)

but i'm looking to know what the difference is between each skate maker, as a generalization. why bauer? why ccm? why easton? why nike? why not nike? actually i just heard nike bought bauer.
dunno, i've been buying bauer just becuase i've always bought bauer. no other reason. then my ankle started hurting and i thought, maybe there's a better skate out there? |
Personally I have always gone with CCM or Bauer mostly because they're established brands and have been making skates for eons. I never had an upper end pair of CCMs or Bauers I didn't like. My current pair of Bauers is about 10 years old now and still feel like they're 6 months old. I went Bauer last time I bought because they had the form fitting ankle insert, which is a piece of material on either side of the ankle that forms to the shape of your ankle after a month or so and gives a great fit. People told me good things about them and they were right. I had no blisters and the break in period was really short.
I can't claim to know much about Nike or Easton though panthermodern says Nike and Bauer are one in the same. Personally I never went cheap when it came to skates but I played alot of hockey so I think that made sense. I guess it comes down to this. If you're taking the girlfriend out to public skating once a month for an hour, don't blow alot of bucks. If you're playing shinny 3 times a week spend the money, it's worth it. If you're somewhere in the middle then maybe you don't want to spend a ton of money but both Bauer and CCM make some excellent mid range models, maybe that's what you ought to be looking for. Good luck. |

It was someone else that said Nike owned Bauer.
I would suggest CCM then ....
The "good" thing about buying Top of the Line is that you most likely will never need to buy another pair a skates again so long as you take care of them.
The one problem in Korea is: "Where would you get your skates sharpened?"
I bet Seoul does not have as many good skate sharpeners as Toronto ...
or Hamilton
or Peterbrough
or Brantford
or Dundas
or Welland
or any other place with a Canadian Tire.
I said it once I will say it again ..... or rather ask ...
Who wants to go in business with me and .....
BRING CANADIAN TIRE TO KOREA! |
