You can get it done at immigration or at the airport.
Costs you 50,000 won. |

You can't change your visa.
You get a re-entry permit.
A single re-entry is 30k won and you can get it at the airport.
A multiple re-entry permit is 50k won and you get it at the same immigration office that issued your ARC.
To get a re-entry permit you need:
Your passport,
Your ARC,
An application form,
30,000 or 50,000 won (single or multiple).
Processing takes 15-30 minutes.
Notes:
you cannot get a re-entry permit until you have your ARC.
You can also get your multi-re-entry permit at the same time that you apply for your ARC. (be aware that processing your ARC can take from 4-10 days and immigration holds your passport during that time).

Actually, you can. I had my single permit changed to a multiple. They stamped an amendment directly on my visa. |

No, you can't CHANGE an E1, E2 or E7 entry VISA.
You must be American and were entitled to a multiple and had it corrected to what it should have been. It was NOT changed, it was corrected.
If you were anything else (other than American) they added a re-entry permit and NOT a correction or change to your visa.

Do I have to post a photo of my visa? Corrected, amended or whatever you want to call it, my single-entry E2 was CHANGED to a multiple-entry visa. |

Ya, I know, just semantics.... but when you are talking about legal issues, semantics count.
A rose by any other name may smell as sweet but calling a daisy a rose doesn't make it one. It is still a daisy and I would be pissed if I ordered a dozen roses and got a handfull of daisies. |

I just booked tickets for a week long trip home in January. Anymore info about how to do this at the airport would be greatly appreciated. The alternative is to convince my boss to take me an hours drive to the immigration office. |

As noted above, you can't get a multiple re-entry permit at the airport, but you can get the single re-entry stamp for 30,000won. Get there a bit earlier than you normally would, and head to the immigration office. It's on the departures level at the back, just next to one of the currency exchange offices. All you'll need is your passport, ARC, and the fee. You take a number, fill out of the form, and wait for a few minutes.
It's never taken me more than 20 minutes. Note that you should do this before you check in, as they won't give you your boarding pass until they're sure you'll be able to get back in the country.

Take your ARC, passport and 30k won down to the immigration office (located in the hallway located behind check-in counter "F" on the departures level).
Do it BEFORE you check in and get your boarding pass. Do NOT go through security until you have it.
It usually takes about 15 minutes AFTER you get to the counter with your filled in application (available at the counter).
Depending on WHEN you are travelling the wait to get to the counter can be 5-30 minutes.

Now, I hate it when people dismiss arguments as being "just semantics." It's basically admitting ignorance and poor rhetoric.
That said, to amend, modify, correct. . . all of these things constitute CHANGE. I had my single-entry E2 CHANGED to a multiple-entry visa. |
