Why are you and Vanessa so nervous today?

I have two final exams tomorrow, __________.


Answer: and she does too.
or
and so does she.

A student asked me the infamous "WHY" question. He's looking for a rule that I can't seem to remember, or come up with.

Why is it "does" here?

i would say that saying "she does too" is a shorthand way of saying what you really mean: "She has two final exams tomorrow".
