METRO : $2,200 (2.1 million KRW)
PROVINCIAL: $2,300-$2,600 (2.2-2.45 million KRW)

LEVEL 2
Must have one of the following:

- Teacher's, TEFL/TESOL/CELTA(100+hrs) Certificate

- Education, English Education or English Language/Literature major

- BA degree plus 1 yr full-time English teaching experience

- MA degree

METRO: $2,100 (2.0 million KRW)
PROVINCIAL: $2,200-$2,500 (2.1-2.35 million KRW)

LEVEL 3
- BA degree in any discipline

METRO: $1,900 (1.8 million KRW)
PROVINCIAL: $2,100-$2,400 (2.0-2.25 million KRW)

* The amount of provincial pay varies according to special rural allowance and multiple school teaching allowance.


So, when I finish this contract I will have 2.5 years of experience. If I renew with the same POE and do a TEFL course over my winter break I'll be a "Level 1 plus" when I begin my new contract in Spring 2008?

That's the way I read it, but you really should be asking this question of your Education Office. Don't trust what some dunderhead on Dave's has to say about it.

^ Very true, my managing co-teacher has been looking into it for about a week. Everyone is really busy with exams and end of semester stuff so I've gotten no solid feedback yet. I'm just bored and anxious. Thanks for your input.
