'Traditional' and 'delicious' are an inseparable collocation.
Only THEY can eat spicy food.
Cass and Hite occupy vastly different regions of the beer taste spectrum. |

The ONE thing some people in this country do right.
Now, if you had said that wacked out Presbyterianism that teaches nothing but hate and disdain for other faiths (the Korean version, at least), you'd be on to something. |

If Koreans dream of pigs it means that they will receive some money.
If they see a magpie singing it means they are in for a good day or some good news.
And if their legs tremble its a sign of death apparently.
Here is an interesting article on the subject:

Being left handed or a southpaw is not right or proper, so many young children who are born with this deficiency are forced to be right handed.
I was doing a part time job the other day and encountered a young 3rd grader in elementry school who was ambidextrous. Couldn't believe it. It was a country elementry school so I don't think she was considered an anomaly.
They also believe girls who are born in the year of the "Horse" will cause all manner of problems. Many abortions of female fetuses are performed if there is the slightest possibility that the child will be born in the year of the "Horse"

They believe your first two as much as we believe we shouldn't let a black cat cross our path. |

| Women who have just given birth shouldn't bathe. Western women can, but Korean bodies are different. |

Pomegranate juice should ONLY be drinken by females...
Males should never drink it (they may turn into a female)....
Phillipinos are native speakers of English....
All foreign English teachers are pedo's, drug addicts and have fake degrees.
Japan and the USA are the most evil countries on the planet.
Koreans all have pure blood.
Koreans have the HIGHEST IQ in the world.
Koreans are the MOST evolved people in the world, because of their hairless, short bodies with small noses, eyes and small ears.
....

I'm kinda anti-Catholic in my beliefs, but we don't need to get into that. |

the difference is marginal at best: if you are superstitious about something then you must, invariably, believe in it to some extent no? In any case, ive walked under many a ladder in my time
and regarding the black cat, what are people who have black cats as pets supposed to do? Ive always wondered about that.

Oh yay, another racist Korea-bashing thread. How about starting a similar thread called "Funny things Canadians believe in" or "Funny things blacks believe in" ? Nevermind--I will in the Off-Topic forum. Let's see how long it takes to get pulled while this thread will go on for pages and pages.
You should all be ashamed of yourselves for even contributing to this nonsense. |

I was not Korean-bashing at all...
when I wrote this -

Last week I had a date with a Korean lady - and we decided each to bring a friend..
She brought a male-Kyopo friend - who has lived in the USA all his life - but only returned to Korea 2 months ago...
I was hoping for a pleasant experience over a few drinks - instead the "male-Kyopo" friend argued for almost 2 hours about the above things I just posted - and no matter how much I tried to get out of the argument - or change the topic - he kept going on and on and on about how it is true - and that all foreigners are still half-monkeys...
He has only been in Korea for 2 months - but he has already FORSAKEN and DISOWNED his american upbringing and his american son - and TOTALLY believes the above things with all his heart...
I was amazed that it doesn't take them long (2months) - to reject the US after living their all his life - and completely embrace everything Korea believes in...
..
