so it's this thursday. i've heard that the traffic (and people) are crazy on this day, trying to get to their exams on time. someone once told me public schools have it off, but my principal is still deciding on that. does anyone have the day off this thurs?

not at my school... we're way out in a fishing village, though. no possibility of traffic. our 3rd graders are going to the nearest city (about 2-3 hours away) for the exam.

If you work in a high school, you probably have the day off. If you work in a middle school, if that middle school is within a stone throws distance of a high school, then you're probably working in a private middle school and most likely have the day off.

But it may depend on the size of your high school and town.

Well I am a lucky man then. I teach at a private boys high school. Tomorrow classes will finish up at 12:30 so that the teachers involved in the test on Thursday can go for some kind of training session. Thursday itself is a free day fo me.

I have the day off but been told it will be counted as one of my holidays. So my trip home will now cover an unpaid day: how petty!

My high school is closed on thursday. I don't know anything about wednesday's schedule being affected though.
3rd graders will be going to a nearby testing facility. It's a vacation day for me and for the 1st and 2nd graders.

Not complaining...

Vo-Tech HS, so most of the students don't have very high expectations. Still, no afternoon classes tomorrow and no classes on Thursday, but I still have to go in. No complaints, I can always use the time to plan, and we'll probably go home after lunch anyway.

If you work at an academic HS, I hear you may be short a student or two the day after exams. Any truth to that Question

I work at a public middle school and have Wed. afternoon, plus Thurs. & Fri. off because students from private high schools are writing their university entrance exams at my school. I'm not allowed to go in - they think I might 'plant' the answers somewhere. Very Happy
