Ah, you're one of those "special" people who fancies themselves "deep", "artisitc" and "rebellious" for going against the masses and not liking great music like U2.
As for other responses.... yes, my list could have been better. Definitely should have had STP and I was thinking Soundgarden, but seems to me like they never really hit the "mainstream" quite as hard as all the other bands. |
U-2 is one of the most nauseating bands in the world. Not to mention they played a big part of making the mullet fashionable |

| No one has gone with REM yet? Michael Stipe wrote circles around most of the other groups mentioned. Having said that, I did like those cool lumberjack jackets that folks from Seattle wore. But hard choices aside, any other takers on the music from '83 to '95 as the greatest ever? Hard pressed to think of many B-sides from this Golden Age that don't demolish the noise the kiddies listen to these days. |

From what I remember (now I'm too electronic to have much 90's music on my MP3).
Nirvana (A number of good tracks)
Radiohead (lovely depressing stuff)
Smashing Pumpkins (Mayonnaise in particular)
Soundgarden (Black Hole Sun, excellent track)
REM (Used to sooth my teenage pain)
Actually I tell a lie. I do have radiohead on my MP3 player and I'd have to say that I have "Where is my head?" by the Pixies. Which I do listen to quite often, but apart from those, no guitars or singing, sorry! |

| By far the most rocking tune of the 90s was "Thus Spake Zarathustra" by Strauss. Tchaikovsky was near the end of his career but still good and I'll always have a soft spot for Dvorak. |
