I don't think so (though Pure Decadence will probably be jammed if most people also go there afterward ...)

I've been thinking the same thing. I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. Come if you've got time and you like the food. If we get heaps of people, we'll deal with it... as long as you RSVP!

The map indicates Hongdae Station, but there's no Hongdae Station on my subway map. Is it the Sinchon or Hongik U. station?

I'm also not particularly good at reading maps. I'll copy it here, and maybe someone can give verbal directions (from exit 6)

Hongdae = Hongik University

In one sense, there is no equal to Hongik University ... Cool

So far, not too many RSVPs. That could mean that the event is not on a convenient day/time, or it could mean that people have been scared off by my dire warnings, or maybe everyone would prefer to go to some other kind of restaurant... I'm not too sure.

Anyway, if you were scared by the crowd, don't be. Come! Feast!

Here's an idea Idea - Email everyone that "Rteacher" won't be coming!

I'm sure you'll get a big turn-out then ... Cool

Then I'll show up and trash the place ... Twisted Evil

Next time maybe email folks on the mailing list to at least reply with some reason if they're not planning to come (and delete the names of those who never respond ...)

Does anyone want to be a stand-in Veggie Prez for the evening? I think I'm going to opt out tonight (some goings-on in Yongin.)

I'll still email the order, of course.

The poster who knew the location of the vegan ice cream place doesn't seem to be going either, and my Google search hasn't turned up any directions. Does anyone else know the location?

I didn't see "Kermo's" message or I would have tried harder to get there myself. My excuses for not making it include a swollen ankle (made worse by using a brace), a bum knee, a lost umbrella, an angry mood, and ATM card troubles.

I hope no one was too inconvenienced by the captain ("Kermo") and self-apointed co-captain (me) abandoning ship as stormy waters approached (for want of a better metaphor...)

I tried to make it, but didn't.

First I was late because my bread took longer in the oven than I thought it would, and then found out that that map you posted, Rteacher, is the worst map in the history of maps. There isn't even an exit 6 at hongik univ. station. Rolling Eyes

So I went out swing dancing.

A few of us found the place and then got directions to Purely Decadent from a tourist information place. Too bad you guys couldn't make it, but thanks again for organizing the dinner. It was fun.

How could it have been fun without me and the club president, "whats-her-name"...? Surprised

Seconded. Small turn out but it was a really good laugh. The restaurant wasn't so good but mexican isn't always the most surprising of foods, IMO. But the ice cream was definately worth it. Especially for the "decadent' amongst us.

I warned you about those nachos! Did anyone have the Exalted and Glorious Potato Burrito (for only 5,500 won)?

I was dragged to a Mexican restaurant tonight-- it was called Urbanos and it's behind CGV in Gangnam. I had the Veggie Burrito. It cost 9,000 won and had a thick chewy layer of "pizza cheese" which I peeled off to spare myself the needless calories. The salsa and the guacamole were pretty tasteless. The meals were served on weird rectangular metal plates, with no consideration at all to presentation. Blech. In fact, the only nice thing I have to say about it is that they played classic big band and swing music, which I happen to love.

I'm really puzzled by the low turn-out. Lots of last minute cancellations. Was it the restaurant? The location? This particular weekend? Mysterious.

The nachos was no problem. But more Mexican food in general is pretty easy to make in itself. SO always generally disappointed by it, as with eating out for Italian food.

I think the weather played a big part. When I left home it was beautifully sunny when I got to Seoul it was raining. Always a good event dampener.

The desserty idea afterwards worked well and was a hit with the vegans and the veges.
