Can anyone guess what the usual time frame is for the ski resorts opening and closing? Does anyplace open by the first week of December (usually). Do they usually close end of February, or is there snowboarding into March?

I get away from Korea from Dec 15 to Feb 28 (yep, Uni job), and I wonder if I should bring back a snowbaord from America this year.

Thanks, Drew

They are usually open the beginning of December. Check out individual websites for dates. I recommend Yongpyong.

They are usually open the first or second weekend in March, but it depends upon warmth and it will be slushy then.

Most ski resorts are open early December but not all the slopes may be open that early in the season. But the resorts will have most of the slopes open by mid-to-late December.

As far as the end of season, February is probably as far as you want to go for any type of decent skiing or boarding. I actually went the first week of March last year but it was just slush and only couple of slopes were open.

Though I'm a skier, I've been to most of the resorts here so if you want some specifics, feel free to PM me.

Cheers
