I'm Canadian and I disagree with this. Never like Tim Hortons and don't understand why almost every Canadian deifies thier coffee. |
From my understanding, most people don't miss Tim Hortons because of their amazing coffee, it's for the price and food. I miss Tim Hortons, but it's more for the relatively quick food that tastes great. I don't drink a lot of coffee, but the coffee from Tim's doesn't really taste that much different from anywhere else. |
OK... I'll agree with this. I stepped off the plane with my girlfriend last summer and went to my first Timmy's. I was utterly shocked at the price. We ordered coffees, donuts, and other stuff, and the price was less than five dollars.
But, many Canadians still say that the coffee is better. Even people that insist they drink "ass shavings." |

The Canadians have never retreated in a fight. In WW1, they drew the line. When the gas cleared, they found a lot of dead Canadians, but they never retreated. In WW2, many volunteered to get their behinds blow to bits on the allied side long before Pearl Harbour. In any fight with the USA, the USA has lost territory to Canada. The Canadians burned the White House, (possibly the only people ever to enter the White House with a good idea), and the Americans were so pissed off that their neighbours did it that they keep saying it was the British (well, they beat the British once, but never the Canadians).
Canadians carved a country out of rock and ice. They are not wussies.
Now, what were you saying? Care to say it louder? Cos we know what Canda's done for us, and we are related to everyone there. Know 'em? |

It's weird how they hand you the coffee complete with milk and sugar in it already. Makes me think this is part of the addiction-causing plan. Carefully controlling the ratios of caffeine, sugar and milk = mimicking the chemical structure of other addictive substances?
Kind of like those toys from China that were banned because the shiny coating turned into the date rape drug when injested by kids. And the ingredients were all widely available non-toxic commercial substances that when combined in a certain ratio mimicked / turned into the date rape drug. |

In all my years of going to Tim Hortons with my parents or by myself, never have they just put sugar and cream in it. You have to order it if you want them to put it in. If you ask for a coffee, you get a black coffee. |

I agree with this. I do like Tim's, but it is by no means the best cup of coffee. Tim's is about good prices, quick service, 24 hrs., and a drive-thru. Around every corner there's a Tim Horton's, it seems - even all the little bumpkin towns all at least have a Tim's! Many people go there simply out of habit - old faithful. |

I think it is also consistency. You know what you are going to get when you go there. It's a safe bet. It isn't the best cup of coffee, but it is by no means the worst, so anywhere you go, you know you are going to get a decent cup. |

| So I used to work at Tim Hortons for a summer and it was the worst job ever. Of course there was AC out front for the customers but not for the staff slaving away near all the hot coffee and bagel toaster and ovens. Anyway, Tims does have a few things going for it. It's cheap, as has already been said. And the coffee is fresh. Better than some 711 or something for a cup of coffee, that's for sure. |
