No reasons are given. That's why one might need legal advice.

Reasons are given in Korean, if you click on the country they are from.

Man, I wish I could read this one. Gonna ask the lady to translate it when she gets home. Hard to make it out by computer translator, but it sounds like the teacher's father had an accident, and she fought with them because she needed time off due to that. I'm really curious:

Quote:

What's up with this one... did he disappear with the money for the flight?

Sounds like this teacher worked for a month and ran off, causing the school great distress. For all we know, the school jerked her around and she left:

Quote:

Sounds like yet another runner. It seems like this site is made up mostly of runners. Those people probably won't care to return to Korea anyway. The site is pretty useless, in all honesty:

Quote:

Speak for yourself. A teacher may be on the list and not even be aware of it. And if you had read my other link, you would have seen this:

Quote:
Attempts to have explanations or rebuttals added or to have names removed have seemingly been met with silence.

And some of the entries seem to be rather harsh. For example:

Quote:

My Korean isn't fluent, but aren't they saying she's fat?

And I think here they're saying, "Her husband is a rotten b@stard."

A poster over at Koreabridge got her name removed from the list by getting the Seoul Bar Association to call them and threaten a lawsuit. She reported that the lawyer at the SBA was adamant about her suing them, and he even said it wouldn't cost her anything.

No money needed to sue them? I think anyone on that list should march over to the SBA and get action started. EDIT: sorry, I just read the link, and realized it said the same thing as me.

What if they deserve to be on the blacklist?

Just curious -- I know three of the folks on there, and the complaints are accurate (and none of the listings are from my current school).

...although I must say I would be interested in proper translations of all the complaints -- I have tried to do my own translations as time permits and the whim strikes, but I've only struggled through the few folks I knew....

Maybe we need to start a Korea Foreign Teacher Recruiting Association Blacklist blacklist. First on the blacklist, as far as I'm concerned, would be the Korea Foreign Teacher Recruiting Association Blacklist.

The truth is NOT protection against defamation claims in Korea. Even if they deserve to be on the list, they can sue the site.

Not when the victim is a foreigner. I'm sure I must have read that somewhere.
