Santas warned 'ho ho ho' offensive to women
Wed Nov 14, 11:04 PM ET
SYDNEY (AFP) - Santas in Australia's largest city have been told not to use Father Christmas's traditional "ho ho ho" greeting because it may be offensive to women, it was reported Thursday.

Sydney's Santa Clauses have instead been instructed to say "ha ha ha" instead, the Daily Telegraph reported.
One disgruntled Santa told the newspaper a recruitment firm warned him not to use "ho ho ho" because it could frighten children and was too close to "ho", a US slang term for prostitute.
"Gimme a break," said Julie Gale, who runs the campaign against sexualising children called Kids Free 2B Kids.
"We are talking about little kids who do not understand that "ho, ho, ho" has any other connotation and nor should they," she told the Telegraph.
"Leave Santa alone."
A local spokesman for the US-based Westaff recruitment firm said it was "misleading" to say the company had banned Santa's traditional greeting and it was being left up to the discretion of the individual Santa himself. |

I am divorcing myself from this world. It has dropped to a new idiotic level.
It's only offensive to loose women, so who cares? |

I think the only way it would be offensive if it was used in its correct form and on the correct women.....hey! if the women in question were getting offended by it, those must be the same women who do something that make them feel like its offensive....
What else are they going to do? Pull every Christmas movie and TV show produced from who knows when until now because the traditional Christmas greeting has now become offensive???
Ho~Ho~Ho'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I concur. In light of this I think a may create whathasthisworldcometo.com - a news blog type deal specifically designed to make a mockery of idiocy like this. If I can get it up before Christmas this story alone should be enough to make it hugely popular. If you think of a better name let me know. |

Is it a coincidence that the colors are the same?
No it isn't.
(I'll post more about this just before Christmas) |

It's time they did something about 'Ho-sannah' too! Not to mention 'Ho-sannah in the highest'.
The word 'ho-ly' is also clearly suspect. |

I think this analysis is simple. The ones who were first offended were the people who held the Santa construct dear and appreciated its wholesomeness for whatever reason. They were inpinged on by popular culture.
Why do the "W-*beep*/hoe/ho" people get the go ahead while the Santa types get censored? |

Isn't there a snack called ho hos? Anyway, this isn't run by an Australian company. It is run by an American one where PC culture is going nuts... The same is happening in Canada to some extent. I don't know about England. Do you remember the Muslim who got offended by a Christmas tree on his way to being tried in court. Now, that was dumb... If you don't like Christmas trees, then don't immigrate to Canada or wherever... |
