Anybody buy one of these?

How well does it work?

Does it still work???

I bought one. It works great. It plays everything. I even loaded an .avi file onto my thumb drive, inserted it into the player's USB port, and it played the movie just fine. Did the same thing with an SD card and it was just fine. It's region free, too.

You can change the menu language to English.

There are two annoyances, though. The remote control is terrible. Buttons are small and poorly labeled and the layout is awful. There doesn't seem to be a button that will take you to the root menu of the DVD. Second, the backlights on the buttons on the front panel are shockingly, distractingly bright.

But, for 53000 including shipping, I'm quite happy.

yeah I got 1 also.. about 1 month ago.

Good points

plays all things fine.. also you can download subtitles and as long as they have same name as video file and they play as well.

Bad Points:

the blue lights on the front really annoying.. have to cover them (thinking of opening it up and ripping out the blue LCD lights or whatever they are called)

also cant adjust subtitle timing. (you have to do it on the pc and make sure they match first)

If you have a DVD in the drive and USB plugged in.. you cant switch between drives. You have to take out the DVD first.

apart from that its great...

Well folks, my W49,000 DVD player's remote has died. The player itself is still breathing after a ton of use in the past half year, so that's something to feel good about. The problem is trying to get another remote, if possibel... Any suggestions? Probably save me some grief and just buy the whole kit again...

I bought this DVD player a few weeks ago. The DVD skipped in certain spots and other DVDs were skipping as well. We called the guy and the Customer Service was less than stellar. After sending the DVD player along with the DVD that didnt work, the guy called us to say that he watched the DVD for 6 straight hours and there were no problems. (Like I believed the guy did that). He tried to get me to listen to the DVD over the phone and such. Proved to be a real pain in the butt. Eventually he agreed to refund our money, however it took 9 phone calls from my gf to this guy AND to Gmarket to get our money refunded. We eventually went a different route on the DVD player. Kinda disappointing, because I had my hopes up on the DVD player.

Sounds like you got a reject. Sorry to hear that. As you can read, we have all had no major problems with our units so someone, you, had to win the bad luck lottery. I was, and am still, quite pleased with this dvd player aside from the remote going t!ts up. I bought mine from G Market too. Do you think you could PM me the number so that I might enquire about a replacement remote? Thanks.

I bought this DVD player. It plays all of our Asian dvds, but only about half of the American ones. So, if you are looking for a truly multi-region one, then pass on it. We also got the "well, tough luck" thing from customer service. Has anyone figured out how to crack it to make it truly all regions? I know most US dvd players can be cracked if you know the code.

Yep it's a Chinese brand. Wife bought it online for about 55000. We've had it a year maybe and used it almost everyday. The model we got is the 238U.

I tried an sd card in a card reader in the USB port but it didn't work. My stick memory, external HDD work.

Just tonight I tried my wife's MP3 player it read that fine, music/pics/videos. She has a Meizu flash player/pmp. It plays stuff from my Cowon D2 as well. Smile

I haven't had any trouble playing divx/xvid stuff. It won't play quicktime files. Every disc I've used has worked so far. I haven't tried non-Korean discs though. I'm pleased with it except the menus are a bit basic and the remote could be better.
