Strange question and feel kinda weird asking it.
I have a twice-weekly after hours class for a couple of kids in their own home. Sons and daughters of the top doctors in the area.
One of the students is a girl aged about 12 or 13 and is (quite rare in Korea) a really nice kid. Very smart, polite and also extremely shy.
She has recently started wearing glasses and is really self-conscious about them. I was drawing charactertures (spelling???) of the kids last night (which they loved - probably because it doesn't really involve english) and when it was this girls turn she begged me not to draw her with glasses. Actually had tears in her eyes.
I went through the "awkward glasses-wearing geek phase" myself (still in that phase to be honest, never grew out of it) so I can relate to how she feels.
Although I would have thought that in Korea you would be teased if you were NOT a glasses wearing nerd.....
Anyway I had the idea to print out a few photos of famous "beautiful women" who wear glasses to somehow incorporate into the next lesson. Make her realise that glasses can be cool. (For some reason I've always had a "thing" for 'chicks with glasses'. Not sure why but I do. But thats probabaly not an appropriate thing to share with the class.)
But for some reason I can't honestly think of ANY famous glasses-wearing "beautiful women". Not just beautiful but also famous for being smart, high-achieving etc etc. I don't want to encourage the "image is everything" and the "women are just to look pretty"attitude of koreans either.
But suggestions of "famous" attractive smart glasses-wearing (and preferably asian) women? Anybody? |

seems to me that a lot of the glasses shops around Korea are COVERED with posters of attractive Koreans wearing glasses.
Maybe that is a start - look at the corners for the names, and see what you come up with.

Well, my main (only) requirement for a female is that she is breathing. For some reason I find that very sexy. But yeah, I have to admit that for some reason I also think glasses can be a real 'turn-on' as well.
Not sure why but I've always liked women with glasses. Maybe its the intelligence thing. (hopefully opposites attract....) And for all those who have read the Dating your Parents thread, my mother does not wear glasses. Except for reading and thats only started in the last few years...
Breathing AND wearing glasses. What a combination.
Oh, and preferably covered in a thin smear of vegemite with a piece of cheese stuck in her left ear. Now THATS hot!!!!! |

Um yeah, I was looking for famous "attractive" women who always wear glasses. Just so I could show the student that wearing glasses can be "cool". Maybe its not such a great idea but I wanted to do something.... |

Well, Penguin, just last year, I got myself a pair of snazzy brown oval frames from some Korean eye glass shop. I only wear them for rare occasions, however, such as when it feels like there is a chunk of granite between my contact lens and my eye.
I don't have any Vegemite (which is not necessary, you say) but am currently working on some way to get my own share of Tim Tams. Whaddaya say to that?! |
