I love the Simpsons and always will, but I really wish they'd've quit while they were ahead. They do like one or two good jokes an episode, and maybe one or two episodes a year, and that's enough to string us along, but honestly it's been pretty terrible for like, what, ten years now?

Come on. American TV should take a cue from the brits, do 6-10 good shows per season, and not pump out the constant idiot drivel. Sometimes the Simpsons seems like they have a long list of has-been celebrities who've paid good money to appear on the show, regardless of how unfunny their lines are, and they're only now getting to the 'M's.

Honestly--sentimentality aside--I don't want to hurt your guys' feelings, but really they've sucked for ages, and should only appear for annual specials. I wish they'd make one good episode a year, but they're contracted to 20, and are, therefore, doomed to mediocrity and halfwit halfjokes. It's like a hungover whank at this point...it still feels kind of good, and you can't quite say no to it, but it chafes and makes you tired and bored.

Ever notice that Toonami has seasons 6 through 8 and they play them over and over? Why can't they get a few more (newer) seasons? The Simpsons is about the only thing I have to do here in Korea. Having been here for 4 months, I've seems the same episodes at least 3 times. CAn't they get some episodes direct from the factory?

Tooniverse does exactly the same thing every night starting around midnight. It's gotten to the point where I can't watch those seasons anymore for a while.

I've been watching the Simpsons since I was 5. I used to watch it religiously. I've seen every episode from Season 3 up to Season 10(ish) at least five times. I have buttloads of quotes memorized, and I get batsh*t angry when some newb claims "Family Guy is better".

Futurama was great too, but as another poster said... it didn't have nearly the impact the Simpsons did.

Off the top of my head:

Homer: "It's just a little airborne... it's still good! It's still good!"
Bart: "It's gone dad."
Homer: "I know."
Smithers: "Will you be donating that money to the local orphanage now, sir?"
Mr Burns: "When pigs fly!"
*Pig flies by followed by awkward silence*

Bart: "Take 'em away, boys!"
Chief Wiggum: "Hey, hey--that's my job. Bake 'em away, toys! Ugh... just do what the boy says."

Ugh... sorry about that. I could literally quote Simpsons for hours and hours and hours and hours.

In Middle school we did pretty much nothing but quote the Simpsons waiting for the school bus.

It hasn't been funny in at least ten years. It's amazing that it's reached the tipping point where the bad episodes outweigh the good. It's been on for 20 years. I wish it would get canceled, but it's like SNL now. It's a cultural institution for America.

Futurama got really good towards the end before it got canned. The movies have been kinda lacking. Decent, but I think they're better at doing half hours more than full length movies.

Hank Scoprio and the one where Sideshow Bob become mayor are my favs.
