Goes to show you what Bush has done to the Republican Party. His actions have been a big boon to the Democrats. Question is can they take advantage of it? |

Probably for the short term; the Democrats will take this newfound support from disenchanted Republicans as endorsement for their more socialistic programs and push them right back into the Republican party. Within an election or two.
All it would take to win them back would be a non-Bush/non-neocon type candidate. (maybe not this election, of course... too much damage). |

yeah, i think you're right. the democrats are great at making the wrong political decisions. |

Really this should be no surprise.
The very rich have always been supporters of socialism. That's because, socialism keeps the masses poor. This allows the rich to maintain their lifestyles. The taxes are paid by the middle class, the poor are available to work as servants to the rich at bargain rates. And the government subsidizes the luxuries of the rich in the name of full employment, or some other lie.
This is why the Democratic party coalition of the rich and the uneducated has been successful since the early years of the 20th century. |
