Rightfully so. If you want to exclude people based on being a fattie, what to stop the slide to exclusion based on religion or exclusion based on education or intelligence.

The health excuse is the same sort of qualifying the nazis did in reference to "non-germanic" people. 'Jews have big noses which leads to more nasal problems, so we should exclude them.'

There are three qualifications of body types, one being endomorph, or a person who stores fat more effectively. We're the people who survive a famine. All this anti-fattie business is sort of ridiculous.

Let us all take time and reflect on... More cushion for the pushin.

Sir/Madam:

If I might,

You've a Red Herring and a Hasty Conclusion in one sentence.

Next-uh, you have the Vicissitude to draw up an obvious attempt at a rather dumb Straw Man argument.

I'm at Cheongdam Station: Meet me for a brewskie, eh! I'd bet that you could imbibe as well as, say, me!

Come on! It'd be a great time!

Totally, we have enough obese peasants of our own draining the health system without letting in Britain's. I hope they extend 'fart tax' to overweight immigrants also, as their excessive emissions have drastic environmental consequences, particularly with the depletion of ozone over New Zealand how it is.

Not quite, mate.

But, 1 in 5 Kiwi tossers are also fat Kiwi tossers

The couple will consider this a massive blow and it seems nuts that a country where 1 in 5 people are obese should do such a thing, because if the UK were to apply the same, law of averages suggests we'd be turning away 1 in 5 Kiwi tossers - when clearly that's ridiculous because we should be disallowing 5 in 5. In the long term though, they can move to a decent country instead. Laughing

Other than the pound and proximity to Europe, what does England have going for it that NZ doesn't? *cough* *fuck all*

Culture - theater, arts, music - and history.

New Zealand is to culture and history what the fat woman in the OP is to strutting her stuff on a catwalk. Laughing

I would like to officially like to apologise to Spinoza and the world for being native to a country that was not discovered earlier.

I would also like to apologise for New Zealand's geography although she remains in the Conde Nast top 5 most desired destinations for travel, it would appear her lack of culture (snicker) and theater (snicker) isn't a concern for the world travelers. England isn't and has never been in the top 20. Whammy.

Scenery? you claim credit for scenery? An argument even more ridiculous because England does have excellent scenery but that's NOT the reason people come. People come to England for culture and that, Kiwi fellow, is something you know nothing whatsoever about.

Try developing an interesting culture and a food that isn't fush and chups.

New Zealand isn't even on the Nationmaster list of 152 countries' tourist arrivals. That's because it's shit. Laughing

Laughing Laughing

Did you even read the website, the quotes at the bottom pretty much say it all.

SPINOZA's awesome effort at finding statistics on "Nationmaster' said:

These stats are wrong, or at least out dated by more than 5 years.

Cuba had over 2,000,000 tourists last year.

Yes, absolutely out of date. Maybe it's coming from 1992-94. Must be more careful.

I have to agree with the other comments that these stats don't seem to be even close. I thought I would enter this comment to ask if anyone knows of a list that is relatively accurate.

Ahem yes, silly me for thinking it was appropriate for New Zealand to claim for scenery Rolling Eyes Anyone with half an education in geography would know that NZ boasts some of the world's most spectacular scenic attractions. Of course NZ is going to claim for scenery, haven't you seen 'Lord of the Ring's'? NZ's whole tourist market plan is based on scenery, and the natural environment, thats where it gets all it's points.

It bores me to try to educate you, but Maori culture is also one of NZ tourism's strongest selling points. Only a pillock would think NZ actually tried to sell our tame (thanks to England) 150 year culture off as valuable tourism. Where do you think our shitty diet was inherited from? Fush and chups indeed, it came straight from the colonists, except we use better fish than you.

Face it, no one wants to SEE your country. No one goes to England and comes back saying 'Oh, I'd really like to retire there one day'.

You get high tourist numbers from people passing through as they travel Europe. I image most just want to get it out of the way early get to some decent looking countries like Spain or Greece or somewhere where the girls have all their teeth and wash occasionally.

Keep clinging to the pound as long as you can, you know without it, England would probably be bulldozed to make space.

For the record you ignorant clot, you are quoting a website that by omitting NZ from it's statistics, you assume that RWANDA had more tourist arrivals than New Zealand.

Even an illiterate child with mild autism could workout that NZ had more tourist arrive than Rwanda.

New Zealand had 2,408,888 arrivals in 2006 by the way. I'm not even going to compare that to the crappy stats list you provide, you can if you want though.

It's stupid.

Your country claims credit for its scenery and its animals.

Its rocks, mountains and animals are more interesting than Kiwis.

No argument there. Laughing

I have been. Very overrated. The Highlands of Scotland, the Lake District, the Peak District, the Cotswolds, the Yorkshire Dales, Northumbria, Snowdonia, are all vastly superior. That's because they're in Britain. Laughing

Well, what else has it got? You even admit it yourself.

Personally, if I'm gonna travel a long distance, it's got to be to an interesting country with interesting people and an abundance of entertainment options - like America or Australia. We Brits view NZ as boring and as someone who's been I can confirm that as absolutely true. When confronted with this observation, the typical Kiwi bonehead replies by telling us the things that make it so crushingly boring scenery, LOTR, f___ing animals.

Thats the difference between an interesting country and a boring country interesting countries have attractions connected to people and culture; boring countries have attractions the residents have no part in whatsoever.

Exactly itd be a complete joke.

The United States and other ex-colonies manage it perfectly well, but not you lot.

Better than North Sea cod, haddock and plaice? My arse! Laughing

Quote:

It gets millions of tourists per year. Admittedly London with its CULTURE gets the lions share but theres a multitude of other things elsewhere, such as Shakespeare Country, the Norfolk Broads, Stonehenge, Bath, Hadrians Wall, Edinburgh Festival, Devon and Cornwall and is the place where modern civilization began. Still, congratulations on your scenery. Laughing

Impossible unless youve lots and lots of money, and that certainly rules out most Kiwis, where your massive ranches will buy a 2-up-2-down in Bradford. Laughing

Dont kid yourself about retirement. Many people retire on the Costal resorts of Southern Europe which are just sunny extensions of England. Many Americans retire in Florida, one of the most backward redneck states.

England is a part of Europe. Europe is immensely interesting - not JUST because of natural beauty - and England has a large role.

Exactly what I thought when I went to NZ and then Australia in 2003 get the boring stuff out of the way first

Thats a little rich coming from someone whose country is a former penal colony where the Dutch and British sent all their scum. Laughing

The strong currency means a strong economy. Tourism pumps billions into our economy and the fact that the people who visit apparently do so with less inclination for scenery and more inclination for culture is a compliment.

You make it sound like people travel to Britain to actually MEET British people. The British are loathed globally as either pretentious toffs, football hooligans, tarts, or lager louts.

At least everyone likes US.

This just sounds like typical British whinging. Everyone else who doesn't whinge and moan about everything comes away from a NZ holiday talking about how friendly and down to earth kiwis are.

Rough call. Minorities do it tough everywhere, the Maori are doing better than most. Different thread.

Yeah, we don't have to market it, but real tourists (ones who don't whine about everthing) get to see and feel real Kiwiana for themselves without it being marketed.

As a negative off-shoot, we get heaps of British settling here, riding the pound. Actually, New Zealand and Australia are full of British emigrants, who do nothing but whine, talk about missing the pub, England and getting sunburnt easily. Really upsets the locals.

Tourism pumps millions into ours. People come for culture, adventure and scenery, many are British who sadly miss a lot because they are too busy whining.
