It's my best friend's bachelors party next Saturday (24th) and we are coming up to Daegu for an all you can eat and drink buffet at some hotel.

That will finish around 10pm and after that we would like to go to a couple or more good clubs and/or bars. Can anyone recommend some for me please. I will some need directions as well or something to tell the taxi drivers where to go.

My mate likes techno, something trancy or hardcore in the way of clubs, and bars that have a good atmosphere and people.

Thanks in advance.

Mate, i don't think techno is going to be the order of the night...

I think drinking might be more important than dancing on that night....

Hotel name is ariana as well... Razz

Lots of other bar choices downtown, after that:

The foreigner bars in Daegu basically consist of:

Commune - indie/rock bar (basement). Pretty good but often quiet until late on.

Thunderbirds - good for watching sports. Has a fussball table.

Itaewon Club - pool table and can request music. Seen a few fights there, however.

Commune is a dirty hole... kinda like the place you snuck into when you were 16.

A few friends and I had a great house music venue going for a while, but we can't afford to keep it running.
Why??
Koreans can only handle hiphop, and foreigners would rather hover over pitchers of warm draft in smokey dark holes like Commune's or Thunderbird's.

I'm afraid your only options in Daegu are hip hop, or pub style places.

It's true, Commune's is a cave. A smokey, drab, dark, cave.

It's also true that that guy has the best selection of indie music in Daegu.

A little atmosphere as opposed to the drab modern scenery of globalised bars these days is not so bad. Clearly many people agree as it's a successful enterprise.

A little atmosphere? In Commune's?
One only needs to look at the clientelle of commune's, hunched over their pitchers in a dense cloud of smoke to realize they are successful only for establishing themselves as a foreigner based bar where evryone speaks English.
