Just wondering if anyone has any info on this? A number of recruiters have told me that it will be possible, and I really want to believe them. I have a winter camp job lined up for when my contract finishes on Christmas Eve, but I really don't want to go to Japan and find that I can't do it.

I know I will just have to wait and see, but I would like to know if anybody has heard anything about this or is in a similar position.

I am no expert on the subject, but from what I've been reading about the upcoming changes, it seems that they will affect the E-2 visa only. No mention of procedures for any other visa types being changed. Of course, I don't really know.

Also remember that C-4 workers are taxed at about 25%, so keep that in mind for your expected pay in the camp.

Might this have changed? The contract that I've received quite clearly states that the tax for this winter camp, on a C4 visa, is 10%. It even shows a breakdown of salary, and the tax that will be deducted. It's definitely 10%.

In 2006 I worked on a C4, don't remember the tax but it definitely was not 25%.
