I heard yesterday that the EPIK renewal paperwork is due this Wednesday (tomorrow). I think this is a bit retarded as we still don't know what the official regulations will be on E-2 renewal. So, if I agree to a renewal and sign all the paperwork and then find out next week that they expect me to fly home on my own dime and wait out a four month criminal background check... wtf?

Sorry, I really want to play honest and straightforward. If they change the law and I have to do all those hoops I ain't coming back. I still want to retain my good name though, I'd hate to think that I signed something and broke a contract.

I'm sure this is a minor thing and I shouldn't get worked up about it... it's just my tolerance for lack of planning and foresight has really reached the breaking point.

The renewal application is merely a statement of intent. It is not a contract.

You can renew at any time.

Just say you'll think about it and let it ride until maybe 1 month before your current contract ends.
